Kent Marine Phosphate Sponge 1.3kg Kent Marine Phosphate Sponge is a ceramic filtration medium which will adsorb phosphates and silicates quickly (within hours) when placed directly in the water flow. Kent Marine Phosphate Sponge can be used in fresh and saltwater aquariums or ponds. 950g of Kent Marine Phosphate Sponge will reduce water of approximately 1.0 ppm of phosphate or silicates down to less than 0.05 ppm in a 120 gallon tank. For silicates to be removed, phosphates must first be removed. The beads in Kent Marine Phosphate Sponge are designed as cracked to expose more surface area and increase efficiency. This product will not release any soluble aluminum compounds into your aquarium, causing negative reactions from your inverts, as competing products may.
