Just one teaspoonful of Ammo Lock will instantly detoxify 3.0ppm of ammonia., and removes 4.0ppm of chlorine or 2.0ppm of chloramine in 10 gallons of water. Ammo Lock does not remove ammonia, it simply converts ammonia to a non-toxic form. Ammonia test kits will still test positive for ammonia even though it is non-toxic. The biological filter will then consume the non-toxic ammonia, converting it to nitrite and then nitrate.
